Washington Butler is a native of Puyallup who was interested in the arts from a young age. She participated in singing contests, performed in the school's theater program and was a singer in choruses. She studied at in the University of Southern California and moved in Los Angeles where she played Belle the beautiful and beast princess at Disneyland for a period of about one year and a half. After dropping out of school in the spring of 2008, she started looking for a talent agency, and trying out for work in film and television. Butler guest starred in the TV series CSI: Miami. Butler was the main character for I Spit on Your Grave (2010), which is a remake 1978 film that was a cult classic with identical title. Though initially, she wasn't a fan of the film's violence and nudity she eventually came to be convinced of the storyline's feminist tone and the strong characters. Butler played Jennifer Hills who, having been viciously assaulted by a forest cabin, and gang raped seeks vengeance against the culprits. The film directed by Steven R. Monroe was launched in October of 2010. Butler began filming The Stranger Within, a psychological thriller that starred Estella Warr, and William Baldwin on Mallorca in Spain in November of 2011. In addition to New York City and Copenhagen The film was set to shoot on location in Copenhagen Denmark. She also became part of the crew for Treachery in which she featured Michael Biehn. The independent feature film started filming in Los Angeles in early 2012. Butler made an appearance in The Demented, a 2013 horror film starring Michael Welch, Kayla Ewell and Michael Welch.
