American model Allison Brooks Janney was born on the 19th of November 1959. In the last three decades Janney's performances have earned applauds on screen and stage. Janney was awarded numerous distinctions, among them her Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. The seven Primetime Emmy Awards were also handed out to her. In addition, two Tony Awards were nominated. Janney was born in Boston and grew up near Dayton near Dayton, Ohio. Her scholarship allowed her to learn at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she completed her studies at Kenyon College. Her first television appearance was in 1999, when she played C. J. Cregg in NBC's political drama The West Wing (from 1999 to 2006). She was awarded Four Primetime Emmy Awards for the performance. Janney was honored with the Primetime Emmy Award for 2014 Outstanding Guest Actress in an Drama Series in recognition of her performance in the role of Margaret Scully on the Showtime show Masters of Sex. Janney has been nominated for Six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she was awarded twice for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Shows.
